My work is grounded in an extensive family archive — most significantly, photographs made by my grandfather, who spent decades documenting everyday life within our South African Indian family in Durban between the 1960s and 1990s. I treat this archive as a living, unfinished thing rather than a fixed record, recomposing and annotating photographs alongside objects, text, and installation to explore what it means to inherit and care for someone else's memories.
Alongside my studio practice, I'm Associate Director of Programs at STILL Artist Residency and Studio Manager for Ayana V. Jackson.
